Good decisions require context.  Meaning they must  be within  the boundary of the vision of the organization and established goals and objectives. A good vision clarifies the mission of the organization (example, "Leader in Healthcare Information Systems Industry").   Goals further expand the vision and/or mission into a specific target ("$500 Million in revenues by 2023").   The objectives further clarify the long term goal ("50 Sales Reps in US by 2021",  "Additional Product Offering by 2022", etc.)
